Deann Goetzinger, OVATION accountant: “It was clear this company is special”

“Being a great place to work is the difference between being a good company and a great company.”
– Brian Kristofek, President and CEO, Upshot

During the Holiday season, we often try to think about all the things that we would like to give thanks. I am celebrating three years with OVATION: so, I would like to thank OVATION for caring about the well-being of their employees. Not only am I blessed enough to work with such an amazing team of talent, but people that really care for each other.

We share prom pictures and pictures of our kids. We enjoy our colleague’s children’s success in volleyball, football, baseball, basketball, and swimming. We also are saddened when an employee is faced with difficult times. This is what makes OVATION a family.

During the interview process, I remember hearing we are a family company. My first Christmas with OVATION, it was clear this company is special. OVATION is focused on the employee. Being able to work and spend some down time during Christmas with my family, made for a more relaxing Holiday.

OVATION understands that we all have lives outside of work and sometimes this might impinge our time and attention. We are encouraged to be well-balanced employees. The flex time alone, has been life changing for my children. This has enabled them to participate in activities, that would otherwise be impossible. My 11-year-old is singing with the Nashville Symphony and I’ll be in the seats watching.

This makes for a much happier employee, and therefore a low turnover rate.

When we have all of our employees together, it’s like having your family home for Thanksgiving. We enjoy spending time with each other and catching up on each other’s lives. OVATION is the best place I have ever worked and is my forever work home.

OVATION is truly a family company and I’m blessed to be a part of this wonderful family. I will leave you with a quote that speaks to my experience at OVATION: “There’s no magic formula for great company culture. The key is just to treat your staff how you would like to be treated.” – Richard Branson, Founder, Virgin Group

Best wishes for the warmest of Holidays!
